Support contact: Eckersley@cosmoscomets.com.au. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, selected language and voice, and the steps that caused the problem. Do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive recordings. If a child uses the app, a parent or guardian should handle any support request and avoid including the child’s identifying details or voice recordings.
Who Countling is for
Countling is primarily a counting and exercise companion for adults. Parents or guardians may choose to use it together with children. This draft makes no Kids Category approval claim. An adult should choose suitable activities and manage permissions, purchases and sharing. Countling does not detect movement or verify safe exercise form.
Interface language and counting language
In Settings, Interface language changes supported menus and instructions between English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Indonesian and Thai. This is separate from the spoken counting language and selected voice. In non-English menus, the Settings entry keeps “(Settings)” and the interface-language heading keeps “(Language)” to help you find your way back. Language names in this selector remain in their own writing systems. Translation coverage, wording and layouts are still under review in this development preview. Restore defaults does not reset the interface-language choice.
Coach — development preview
Choose an exercise, spoken language, sets, repetitions, pause and rest. Coach plays a count for each scheduled repetition and rests between sets. It does not detect movement or verify completed exercise repetitions. Stop ends the workout; leaving the app stops it and returning shows setup. Human animation previews remain development-only pending quality and rights review.
No counting sound
Check media volume and the selected audio output, especially connected headphones. Try Hear again. Reset before starting if you want the preparation countdown; Resume continues the previous run.
A spoken answer was not recognized
Check microphone and speech permissions in iPhone Settings and your network connection. Recognition availability varies by language and device. Apple may process speech online; offline operation is not guaranteed. Parents should decide whether to enable speech features before a child uses them. Microphone and speech permission prompts are not verified parental consent. Start proceeds without a mandatory microphone-check popup. An unanswered prompt follows the normal miss flow and does not open microphone help. A reported microphone/audio setup error can stop the attempt and open help without saving a completed round. You can also choose Check microphone and sound manually in Speaking Challenge setup. Stop screen sharing or other microphone use if capture is silent, then retry. Open Review recognized answers to see what the recognizer returned, then use Practice to listen and repeat. Recognition mismatches are not a reliable grade of pronunciation.
Practice
Tap Practice to hear the example, wait for the short pause, then speak when Your turn appears. A practice attempt does not change the finished round's score or earn rewards.
Listen and Tap
Choose one or more languages, the number range and a round length of 10, 20, 50 or 100 questions. Selected languages are shuffled through the round, with a flag identifying each question. Listen to the recorded number, then choose one of four answers. Choices become available after the example finishes. Correct answers earn a star; brief feedback appears before the next question starts automatically. At the end, a perfect round earns a gold trophy, at least 80% earns silver and at least 50% earns bronze. These awards describe the completed listening round; review rounds do not earn awards. If audio fails, tap Hear again; the unanswered question is not marked wrong. Missed numbers return in Your spaced review on a later day. This mode does not need microphone access and does not change Speaking Challenge scores or rewards.
My Goals and rewards
Both games open the same My Goals collection, with a collection summary, source filter, and expandable reward rules and personal bests. All games shows rewards together; optional filters show Speaking Challenge or Listen and Tap. Completed standard listening rounds can contribute awards. Practice, review and unfinished rounds do not earn new rewards. Combining the display does not change either game’s scoring rules.
History and Watch
History is stored on the device. Clear all history removes saved counting and challenge entries, plus the Listen and Tap review queue. For Watch controls, keep the paired iPhone available and open Countling. Sound plays from the iPhone.
Privacy and sharing
See the privacy policy draft and data controls for the current data-flow description. These hosted draft pages still require owner approval before App Store use. Sharing a counting session sends its summary to the destination chosen in the system share sheet; an adult should manage sharing when using the app with a child.
Full Unlock and restoring purchases
Basic counting remains free without a time limit. Full Unlock is an optional one-time purchase for exercise activities, Speaking Challenge, Practice, and Listen and Tap with spaced review. Choose a locked exercise or game from the counter menu to open Full Unlock, then choose Restore Purchases to check an existing purchase using the same Apple Account. A pending Apple approval does not unlock features until approved. There is no subscription. Apple handles payment confirmation and refunds. Adults should manage purchases. Local Xcode purchase and existing-owner Restore checks passed in development. Live availability, real sandbox purchases, and Restore after reinstall or on another device still require verification before release.
